Alison Sawyer Current and her husband Jeff moved to Mexico in 2001.  Saddened by the plight of the dogs in their area they took in strays and puppies, attended to their health problems and found then loving homes.  Eventually this evolved into Isla Animals, now a lifelong mission.  They have rehabilitated and re-homed thousands of animals as well as arranging and participating in spay and neuter clinics in different location around the Yucatan Penninsula. Alison is a devoted advocate for any dog in need.  Alison was awarded The Doris Day Animal Kindred Spirit Award.
