Adoption FAQs

How much does it cost to adopt a pet? There are no adoption fees, just the cost of vaccinations ($50 USD) and the cost of transportion. Crates are available on a supply basis.

How do I get my adopted pet back home? The first and most important thing is finding out if your airline takes animals. Most charter flights do not take animals. Most major airlines usually do. There are temperature restrictions but these are usually a problem in July and August, and in January and February. Some airlines don't worry about it at all.

What do I need to know about the crate?
It has to be big enough for the animals to stand up and turn around in. Some airlines are pickier than others about this but it's better to be prepared. We have many crates which have been donated to us by the airline. Another way the tourist industry works with us. We are happy to offer the crate at no additional cost. **REMEMBER – IF YOU GET A LARGER CRATE, YOU CAN TAKE HOME 2 DOGS WITH NO ADDITIONAL TRANSPORTATION FEE

How much work do I have to do to get my pet? I am here on vacation.
Once you have picked out your pet, we will do all the work. We will need to get your pet vaccinated which will cost you approximately $50. If we have a crate available, we would be happy to give it to you to transport your pet. We will meet you at the airport before your departure and help you and your pet get checked into your destination and one your way to your wonderful home. Remember, the airline charges a cost to transport your pet. You may check in advance of what this cost might be.

What should I expect when I get home?
They will bring your animal to you at the special cargo part of the baggage claim area; it is usually the same room. You simply go through customs and show them your papers and it usually goes very smoothly. Sometimes they ask a few extra questions but mostly it is a breeze!!!

Next, you take your forever "grateful" pet home and love it as much as you can.
