Adoption Process

Finding a companion animal for adoption in Cancun has never been easier. At any given time there are an average of 50 dogs that are fully vetted and waiting to go to their forever home. You can make arrangements to meet them personally (while you are in Cancun) or picking one out on our website, by contacting MariaAlicia on her cell at 998.165.3512 or office number at 998.206.0056. She can be reached by email at rap_cancun@hotmail.com

Most people think that animals from Mexico need to be quarantined. NOT TRUE!!! The animal needs a certificate of health from a vet issued within a week of departure. They also need a certificate proving they have been vaccinated for rabies at least 30 days before departure. We supply a booklet with the official stickers taken off the vaccine bottles.

Animals can travel with their new owners as long as the airline permits. (Except to England or Ireland where a 6 month quarantine is required.)

IT IS SO EASY. Just follow these simple steps below.

  1. Call your airline to be sure they will let you travel with a pet. You can get good information by visiting your airlines website. Be sure to register your pet at least 24 hours prior to your flight.
  2. Once you have picked out your pet, MariaAlicia will take your pet to the vet for his health certificate. The cost for vaccinations is approx $50.
  3. You can buy a kennel in Cancun (Costco is good) or you can use one of ours if the right size is available. You can bring this back on your next visit, or donate it to your local animal shelter. We always appreciate a donation, if possible, for the use of the kennel.
  4. On the day of your flight, MariaAlicia will meet you at the airport with your new family member. We will stay with you until your pet has been checked through.
