"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." – Nelson Mandela "When you know better, you do better." – Maya Angelou It's well known that children who mistreat animals often grow up to mistreat their fellow humans. Such behaviour often results from ignorance about the needs of animals and their ability to experience pain and suffering. That's why education is so important. When people understand that animals are sentient beings and learn about responsible animal care, their treatment of animals typically improves. This is especially true of children. When you teach a child to be kind to animals, you are helping pave the way to a brighter future for all living beings. CANDi is in the process of developing programs to educate both children and adults in responsible pet ownership and in ways to help stray cats and dogs. These programs will be facilitated through our spay/neuter clinics with the support of our Humane Partners.
