But that empathy must be taught at a young age, if it is to grow in one's heart and mind. Teaching children about compassion and empathy early in life builds moral character, reduces violence, and creates a sense of empowerment and responsibility. When you teach a child to be kind to animals, you are helping pave the way to a brighter future for all living beings.
