Corporate Social Responsibility

All great corporations create lasting, meaningful relationships with its stakeholders: shareholders, employees, suppliers, consumers and the communities in which they conduct their business.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR) IS A TOOL FOR COMPETITIVENESS

Social Responsibility, in the long run, is good for business. This allows the commitment to be sustainable over a long period of time.

Corporations within the tourism sector all face competitive challenges and pressures.  We believe that a CSR program makes good business sense and should form part of a long term business strategy.  We also believe that eliminating pet overpopulation, abuse and inhumane euthanasia in developing countries in the Caribbean and Mexico will contribute to the economic development of those countries and improve the quality of life of both locals and tourists alike. The reputation of a company is built upon the expectations of all stakeholders, including shareholders and its customers.  A CSR program can improve a company's reputation and build the value of its intangible assets.

HUMAN RESOURCES

The best recruitment policy is the retention of existing employees. A CSR program can affect a company's recruiting and retention performance in a positive way by improving employee productivity and reducing staff turnover.

SUPPLIERS

CSR policies can lead to an improved competitive position for both the supplier and the company itself.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Companies must strive to gain, maintain and enhance their 'license to operate' in each community.  Until now that has been defined as an issue of compliance with local and national regulatory controls.  Today, it means something more; it has come to mean earning the trust and respect of the community in which you conduct your business, seeing the community as one of your stakeholders, becoming directly involved in a social issue affecting the standard of living and the quality of life in that country.  In poorer markets (and that includes many Caribbean countries) the creation of economic value should go hand in hand with the creation of social and environmental value.  It is in effect behaving as a good citizen in helping to enhance people's quality of life.

At CANDi we believe that the private sector plays a fundamental role in stimulating economic growth, creating social welfare, generating employment, reducing poverty and acting as an instrument of development.  These roles can't be fulfilled without being responsible to all stakeholders.

We offer a broad platform of opportunities so assist your corporation's development of your own CSR commitment.  Overpopulation of cats and dogs is a very serious problem and is currently dealt with by inhumane slaughter of hundreds of thousands of these animals each year.  Tourists are horrified to witness and learn first hand of this and it has a negative affect on their vacation experience.  The solution is simple: CANDi will establish spay and neuter facilities in the major tourist destinations throughout the Caribbean and Mexico. Your corporation can become directly involved in this issue and improve the standard of living and quality of life of the people and animals in those areas.  Sustained over many years, that commitment will improve your competitive position and your relationship with these regions as well as with tourists – your clients.
